My GF is 5'6 and has to move the seat BACK from my position to just sit in my car comfortably (not drive it though!!!). I'm 5'8, but < 30 in. inseam and have no problems with the mirrors or A-pillar.

Not the a-pillar itself, I'm talking about the mirror blocking the view on the other side of the mirror on the a-pillar side, not the quarter panel side (the usual blind spot).

I'm going to have to take issue with that comment. It isn't bikers who don't pay attention to blind spots. It's the car & truck drivers who do this. Bikers pay the price.

I guess Im old school trained (Drivers ed in school) and was taught to turn my head and look when making turns but alot of drivers today only rely on the mirrors, if even that when turning or changing lanes.

And Kenchan dont worry, its not the size (or length) of you legs, just how you use them.

It does take getting used to, but you will find, if you let a car pass you on either side, it will go from the rear view mirror, to the side to where you can see it directly and never be out of your sight.
Bingo! I was freaked out when I first got the Z, thinking that I would probably only be able to go for a week without being hit by someone. These tips (as well as general situational awareness... know who is behind you at all times) will cure 99% of the problem. There is still a TINY blind area, but it's so small that a good driver (see situational awareness) won't have any problems.

Agreed... even though changing the mirrors as described in a previous post helps A LOT, a quick look over your shoulder is a must. There is always going to be some idiot who rockets across three lanes to try to catch the exit he forgot about who will not show up in the mirrors (true story... I'd have crashed if I'd only relied on the mirrors).

Mirrors are a non issue... ****. I installed the little circle mirrors to help and like others have said, I was taught to turn and look over my shoulder before changing lanes.

If you are complaining about visibility out of the right side... if you don't have a passenger, lean the seat back and you can see out the quarter window just fine.

Agree 100% that it's bikers that pay the price when there is a failure to pay attention to blind spots, but it goes both ways. The way I read his comment was that it's up to the biker to stay out of other vehicles blind spots, for their own good. When I'm on the bike I do not camp out in other vehicle's blind spots because I do not trust them to check it before changing lanes. I either accelerate to get in front of them or stay behind them. It wouldn't matter to me who wasn't paying attention to their blind spot if I was dead.

I think that with the Prova Blue mirrors, and I found some blue mirrors for my E55 Mercedes Benz too on Ebay, that you can get a wide view, as well as not have any light glare, as well as be able to see the lower part of your car as needed when you are reversing out of a stall/tight spot etc....

Doesn't that make you wonder what were their engineers thinking when they designed them?? There's always room for improvement, but it appears those engineers can't hit the target straight.
