Fuel Gauge (Dots) Problems?

Anybody has problems with their fuel gauge? My dots would all disappear when there's still fuel in the car, And sometimes they will come back and sometimes they won't. Is this a Nissan recall problem? My car is 2011. Thanks!

It's a glitch in the Pac-Man software...

Seriously I have no idea. Good luck.

Mine, like a lot of others will not show the first dot when full or it will disappears quickly. I talk to a Nissan service manager about it when I was having some work done and he said the part $300 before labor and that there was no guarantees that it would work any better than the one I have, so I just live with it. :ugh2: Yup, the fuel gauge is another one of those little annoying things with the 370z that Nissan knows about, but does nothing.

I actually found a thread about this, apparently it's the fuel sending unit. And someone on Facebook said it works but it will only last a couple of years.

I'm just curious why using the FI fuel system doesn't fix the problem. Is it gonna be even worse now that it's running on E85/flex fuel? Like why is this even a problem? There's 2 sensors and a gauge, how hard it is to make it work? I blame the orange dots. I hope Tony can figure out a way to eliminate the problem.

I think the issue maybe the sending unit itself as mine was not working right before the twin turbo install and nothing has changed since. Yeah, I hope it's no worse with e85. My fear was trying to run all the 91 craptane out so I could run 100 octane, because it would go from three dots to one dot in no time at all and that miles till empty does the same thing...35 mile to empty, go five mile and 15 miles till empty. At least now with flex fuel, I won't have to worry about that!!!

I HATE IT when you fill up the tank but the very last one won't light up. I hate having OCD lol..

my first dot is always out after a fill up but when I shut it down then drive later it'll typically light up.

Tony told me it shows my car has over a quarter tank then they all disappeared after idling for a while. That's before tt.

yea mine only does it on the first dot and once in a blue moon the first 2 will be missing when I fill up. but most times it's just driving home, shut down, turn on, and they are back on.

It's just annoying. The last thing I wanna do while driving is guessing how much gas I have in the car.
