They were able to remove all of the problems I spotted the other day, and I'd even go so far as to say it looks better than the factory job (one that isn't defective that is) on a Z. Especially after we looked at the red Z they had on their lot under the florescents, it had many blemishes and imperfections in the clearcoat.
After reading your post, I took a VERY close look at my car and found 5 or six very small clear coat imperfections on the roof that got past everyone when the clear coat defect on my hood was repaired last month. Now I have to go out and deal with the service manager to get warranty authorization for the body guy to repair or re-paint the roof. This stuff just shouldn't be on an expensive enthusiast car like the Z. My car has 400 miles on it has been outside only twice since delivery last month. I don't expect a problem. Thanks for your post. It raised my awareness of this defect, which may otherwise not have been discovered during the warranty period.

I think i'm joining the paint messed up club. I just got around to washing my car for the first time in nice weather with good lighting and have some marks and runs in CC on my hatch with a thin spot in the CC, I'm going to the dealer today to get this resolved.

I was pretty surprised to see the same problem I had on my original factory job on another random Z that they pulled up so we could check it out. Granted it wasn't anywhere near as bad, but I'd really be surprised if there were any 370Z's out there with no issues with the clearcoat or paint. Pull up your car into a garage with some big fluorescents and I think you are bound to see some issues.

They even said that they went around the car lot looking at various other new Nissan's and were seeing similar problems. They had one black Nissan Cube that was almost as bad as my car even.
