Headlight Modification Suggestions
I have a Monterey Blue Z and I'm getting tired of the chrome housings. Plan on getting black wheels, getting black emblems and painting the door handles black so i would like black housings. I like the idea of OEM painted shrouds, i just wanted some feedback from others so i can know what to do. I know there are several designs on the headlights and several companies to do them. Can anyone point me in the right direction and does anyone have any good ideas for color combos/ light mods (Ex: Iron Man or Dual Orb). Would love some feedback
Thanks! |

Daedalus customs out of silver spring md, his name is Clifford Kim and you can look him up on Facebook under daedalus customs. He did my headlights and they turned out amazing and hes definitely less expensive than 180.

To me, the projector shrouds look either too bulky or out of place when they're a different color than the rest of the housing. I just don't care much for the color matched or separate colored shrouds but that's only my opinion! It seems like plenty of people like that style, however, and like to pair that with probably an 80mm or 90mm halo on the shroud. Maybe a 50mm or so on the blinker up top. A lot of people also like the landing strip style along the border closest to the hood of the headlight.
My setup is one I haven't seen done before and I really like how it turned out. If I did it any differently, I really like the demon eye and ironman look. Finish on the headlight really depends on what color the car is to me. ^^ Only my opinions. Everyone has their own; choose whatever YOU like.

I like it. A nice flourish without going overboard. Much more than what you have is gaudy to me.

When I did mine I thought about black housings but ended up going with color matched instead. I think it gives more of a factory look before the new nismo headlights came out. I didn't do any fancy lighting because I plan on keeping the car a long time and didn't want to have to replace any custom lights down the road.

I personally prefer an OEM look. Not a big fan of headlights looking 'extra' aftermarket. If you want to see an OEM '15 Nismo headlight copy, with custom lenses, click the link in my sig. Very happy with the look.
