Modding... where to start?
Reading more and more of this forum and it's starting to get overwhelming. I think I want it all :-)
I've got a 2015 base with a rear deck spoiler. Splash guards are going on next week. My know-how is limited but I'm willing to learn. What next that's not too complicated and overly expensive? TIA |
Exhaust ! open that growl up
|
id start with drop in air filters and post maf tubes.... cheap and comparable gains to a CAI
id recommend AFE, cosworth, as they are dry....i dont recommend K&N to anyone, ever. Do you want to start with looks or power? |
GTR Start button for at least 5hp :icon17:
Theres my more paranoid version DiY. http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...-swap-out.html Or another members easier version that you need to be a little careful with. http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...ternative.html We do have an extensive DiY section with many things covered that you could do yourself if you have the tools and time and some help. http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d.../?daysprune=-1 |

GTR start button very easy and affordable. GL! My first mod was K&N drop ins.... :) |
Performance before appearance :P
At least in my opinion... I am planning on doing the stillen intakes, then catback exhaust, with HFC here in the future and in that order. Then maybe a 1" drop with springs and nice shocks? |

The GTR start button is also really easy for interior upgrade and looks great... flat head screw driver, pop out the button, disconnect old one and insert GTR start button, and connect! **On my list to do** exterior id say get the bluebat rear valence overlay...really changes the booty of the car. The rear valence is the outlined part of the back bumper above the exhaust tips...Our car sare white and blacking that out looks great |

This will give you in person exposure to members mods and pick up some tips as well meet pretty cool people. |
The correct answer is always suspension but it is a little pricier than some of the basic breather mods.
Real question for you OP is what do you want out of the car? show car, weekend fun car, autox/track car, etc.? |

I want it to look nice, a little different than every other stock Z on the road and to the degree that I can, maximize the performance for the most enjoyable ride possible. |
I'd also suggest a Catback first. Makes the car sound amazing.
I see you are in NJ. Check out one of our upcoming meets. Looking at stuff online is one thing but seeing a bunch of modded Z's in person really helps you when it comes to making very expensive decisions. |
Based on that I'd say an eibach front sway bar, a set lowering springs, camber arms/toebolts if needed to correct the alignment, and maybe a set of spacers if you're into the flush look.

hulagirl- a tad expensive but an easy mod that will for sure work properly is getting nismo wheels with nismo size tires. no need to lower your ride. ur ride will not only look nice, it will ride properly too.
