What do you guys use to clean the dash board area?

What do you guys use to clean the cover or the no-nav box and the other areas with that material ?

and....

Also the crevices on the bottom of the radio/next to shifter already have some crumbs or w/e in there... what should i use to scrape it out ? I don't want to scratch or ruin the material...

Thanks!

I use a damp cloth for the storage area above the head unit. I use the brush-tip on my vacuum cleaner to clean the area near the shifter.

Sorry that neither are revolutionary.

+1... I also like 3M's Vinyl & Leather Protectant. It's water based, so the dash doesnt feel greesy but still has a nice sheen afterwards. (Same thing goes with the 303 protectant) Both great products!

Either of those available at local auto supply stores or even Walmart?

JNguyen 10-24-2009 07:16 PM

I get the 303 from my local marina actually, because they use it on boats... and the 3M protectant should be available in most auto parts stores. (I dont think Walmart has it though)

JNguyen 10-24-2009 07:24 PM

Yeah Walmart doesn't have 303, neither does autozone.

Any other ideas for places that might carry it locally?

Sure enough, the nearby marine equipment store. Good stuff for all interior services? Including the soft materials like on the door panels and no-nav storage box?

I keep one of those Swiffer dusting cloths folded up and stuffed inside of the compartment where the nav. would be. It works great for a quick dust & clean of the dash and console area, when it gets dirty I just toss it and put in a fresh one. The 303 Aerospace protectant is outstanding stuff. I apply it with a small piece of clean cellulose sponge, let soak in for about a half hour, and then buff the excess off with an MF towel. Every couple of months seems to be all that is necessary for the 303 application if you keep the dust off in the meantime. I didn't bother looking around town for the 303, I ordered online and had it on my doorstep in a few days. A 16 oz. spray bottle will last a long time.

Prima Nero is more matte than 303 Aerospace... the UV protection is less though. DP specifically formulated Nero in direct comparison with 303 to achieve the maximum matte finish.

ive tried both and ended up with Nero. that's how great it is. :p
