I used 5 nuts and bolts on each side lip. To make sure the lip sits flush, start drilling from the outer side to the inner side and bolt it in the same order. No silicon needed. |

I used a riv-nut tool, looks like a rivet gun you thread the crush bolts to. I used two per side, 4 total. And I left out the small triangle block.

I Used two 5/16 bolts with large fender washers, it does not move and it's flush. One on the corner of the outsides and one about 4 inches in from the inner edges

5/16 must huge though? so you just drilled through the carbon fiber underside?
I was thinking of using double sided tape. then use a rivot gun and put 3 rivots from the inside of the bumper so there would not be any holes on the outside of CF lip. and using 15 lb double side to just basically hold it in place while i drilled holes to to put the rivots through I was just thinking of using screws instead so it would be easier to remove later if I decide to take it out but worried the screws would come out. what do you just think? |

I'm sure you could do it that way, but this applies a good amount of pressure on the lip, it does not move whatsoever. I'm not sure what the wind load is on it either, but after having a stillen splitter take off from my G37 bumper, I don't risk it.
This was using the supplied screws from stillen. Held on for a few months and one windy day on the interstate it took off. As you can see the scews are still in place but they are small enough that it let the splitter pull over them. That's why I used the larger hardware to give it a good gripping area to keep that from happening.

So are you not using the crush bolts that came with the kit? I agree with you on using extra precaution. Better save than sorry. Every time I heard someone using double sided tape and a few screws for lip or spoiler a few weeks later they regret it.

CS 15 Nismo Lipkit.....WIP thread
Just a heads up for those who bought DRL brackets, you need to fabricate a piece of metal to screw one side of the bracket to the bumper. This was unexpected.
The fitment does not completely sit flush so get some silicone to seal the (small) gap. PS. I have intake air filters behind the DRL so I want to make sure there is no water coming inside the bumper when it's raining.

Fair enough. I was debating whether I should ask that question here.
