Fair price on having side skirts repainted?

going to get a few more quotes but the first place quotes me $362!

I was like wtf, that seems high. He then came back with $326

What do you guys think is a fair price?

Ryan

how much prep needed? if minimal prep, 150 for the pair.

It really depends on what you are having done. If it's just a touch up respray, it shouldn't cost a lot (a lot a factors, but kenchan's $150/pr should be in the ball park). If you are changing colors or a lot of prep is required, $325 doesn't sound all that bad if they do a good job.

:iagree:

Just have them completely resprayed same color. They will need to be sanded down. 60k miles of scuffs and rock chips.

I just think that kinda high.

I have an appointment tomorrow at another shop my buddy works at.

kenchan 06-01-2015 04:56 PM

ask him how much he would do it for cash..

Zoren 370 06-01-2015 06:11 PM

Had my F1 amuse Frp painted body color at a collision shop for $240 for the pair.

$380 for paint with install and fabrication to fit. Fitment is never perfect with replicas.

RyanWest 06-01-2015 10:27 PM

BTW

I have removed them and brought them to the shop.

Figured it would lower the cost.....??

I was thinking more like $150-$200 tops

Zoren 370 06-01-2015 10:32 PM

:iagree: thats a fair price.

I'll contribute $2 toward your paint job if only you would put your rear bumper back on :rofl2:

$200-300 for both sounds fair depending how much prep work is needed. You're repainting oem pieces so fitment shouldn't be an issue here, but like KC said earlier, ask for the cash quote since that usually result in a little more discount. Oh, and get them to throw in some extra clear coats for better protection.

To give you an idea, the lowest quote I got was $150 to paint a duck bill spoiler, mind you the spoiler is much smaller size than our side skirt. That's just prep, paint and clear coat, installation costs extra.

The rear bumper was taken off to get resprayed as well.

Don't hate on my creativity :rofl2:
