I will be purchasing the gtr shift knob in the next few weeks in order to try to make it work instead of the oem 370z shift knob. Modification will be necessary in order to make the gtr knob sit low, assuming the diameters of the 2 shafts are the same.

I tried the momo shift knob already, in my opinion, it does not look good; and momo hasn't changed their automatic offering for many years now. I think my main focus will be finding an knob that can sit low, like the R8 or gtr.

Sounds good that's what I want also. A low sitting GT-R shift knob.

Based on a YouTube video I saw, it should work. There will be modifications necessary to make the gtr knob sit low. I have not had the proper time yet to do this project. I hope to soon.

why do you need a shift knob on an auto? Will it make parallel parking faster? D->R->D->P

I kid I kid, enjoy the mod.

It's not purely for looks with stick though, some people choose weighted knobs for a more positive shift feel. Some go with lighter knobs and short shift kits. Either way they change the gear throw feel significantly.

True but not all MT shift knobs do something, some are just for looks. When i had my 6MT 370 i had the b&m short throw shifter, but i still had to change the knob for looks.
