Do those things at the end turn? I am thinking it is to help the seat slide.

They do turn, I don't know which side it would go on. Also the driver seat doesn't have one.

I think cooltoy is right about it being part of the seat slide. My guess is that it is part of the 87400 assembly in the drawing linked to above.
