I pulled hatch weight and tried putting a few coins ...dimes was it? under the spring (inside the little spring bootie. It was a tiny bit goofy but it worked.

I pulled hatch weight and tried putting a few coins ...dimes was it? under the spring (inside the little spring bootie. It was a tiny bit goofy but it worked. Finally I just got a new spring from the dealership (they didn't charge me). Now it works fine. If the dealer gives you grief, it's kinda fun pulling the hatch weight anyhow and makes you feel like a racer loosing the dead weight. (Plus a little spare change in the boot can always come in handy)
