I've taken the plastic pieces out of the trunk like a dozen times and haven't broken a single tap.

Op and Masterbeatty,

Just a suggestion. You can find a 3" or 3.5" speaker grill and use it to finish it off nicely. Mod the frame so it sits snug on the holes.

Thanks for the suggestion, I also was plying with the idea of using the left over CF I have.

I have a template I can scan and email if anyone wants it.
I see this is a old post but would you still happen to have the template for location of drilling the holes

I just went through my emails trying to find the template and it looks like I deleted it. You should reach out the Charles at powertrix he’s who I got the template from for my powertrix coil overs. Start small when making the holes so you can correct if needed, I started with 1/2 inch and then the other sides plug fit loose so I ended up with 5/8 each side. I think it came out pretty clean.

The measurement are:
2-3/4" from front of cover

2-1/2" from inside edge

I just did mine and they were perfect. Only 3/8" holes.

By the way, that was using a regular Stanley carpenters tape measure.

I have at least half a dozen of the Stanley tapes laying around, I’ll be sure to grab one of those for precision’s sake.

The reason I mentioned that is, even though the trunk plastic is rounded, the hook on the tape measure will still hook on the rounded edge enough to give you an accurate measurement. Otherwise, there's no edge to measure from.
