Driver side door panel wear
I rest my elbow on the upper part of the door when driving. Now I have a spot where the finish is gone. Any ideas on refinish or do I just have to replace it. Only 55K miles it should be more resistant. I have cars from other manufacture with 150K on them with no wear problems, same elbow!

A picture would help. Shoe polish helps on scratches but I don't know if that would help what you are describing.

Are you sure the finish has worn off?
My wife's Acura had a spot after about 30K mile and 2 years. Turns out it was a just gross arm stuff like sweat and skin that had accumulated. It cleaned off with a slightly more powerful cleaning agent than I would normally use on that particular fake leather (I tested it first). She drove the Z for 25K miles and 1.5 years and never had a problem like that. I use Super VRT to dress up the interior panels. Its not too greasy (don't need much) or glossy, and I've found it does a decent job at hiding small scuffs or scratches. |
Basically Op wore the finish and its become shiny from the wear.
I have the same issue. I think thats a 1 piece panel 809 Front Door Trimming :: Body(Side & Rear) :: Genuine Nissan Parts :: 370Z Parts (Z34) 2009-2014 :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com |
