Amuse side skirts - scraping question.

Hello.

I am making some scrape plates for my Amuse (Shine) kit.

I have heard that there is a chance for the side skirts to scrape. Regardless of good or bad driving, I would like to protect them, just in case I have one of those brain farts.

For those that have them on and have had a crape, where on the skirt does that usually happen? Starting in the middle or more towards the back?

I don't want to build a scrape plate that is the whole length of the skirt if I can avoid it. Where would be the best place to start it?

Thank you in advance.

If you are lowered, pretty much the entire skirt is at risk.

:iagree:

The entire underside is correct but it gets worse towards the rear...

Sorry. Forgot to mention - stock height.

So should I do it starting about half way? Or just do the whole thing?

I did not want to add too much weight, but if the whole thing needs to be done, then then it was I will do.

Interested to see what you come up with... will you be producing more? I definitely want to protect from scraping too.

I don't think you have to worry at stock height

Probably not worth the effort and $ to make the plates and make holes in your sideskirts

No, it's just a one off for myself. Sorry.

But Fly1 makes them to fit to any template you want. Or they can do the standard template. Your choice.

Maybe I'll just do halfway, 'cause I am anal. The material would only be like $50.

If you're going through the trouble to make plates, do the entire length. Halfway just makes another potential spot to get hung up on.

I don't have the amuse skirt but have the sunline rep. It has scrapes on the entire length of the skirt so I magine it would not be much different. The amuse hang lower than the sunline kit. I have a new replacement kit sitting in my garage and will run a plate for the entire run. I also need to find a way to reinforce where it is mounted on the fender.
