I've gone a pretty unconventional route to reduce weight. While I've never taken the trouble to actually weigh in after replacing almost every panel with carbon fiber I can confidentially say the car feels much lighter. The Nissan tech in Smithtown said you can feel it once you let off the clutch. I'm shooting for a set of race sets in 2011 and a seibon hatch (last missing panel) on which I'll put a Kognition wing. Down the line I'm shooting for some ultra light wheels.

you know...the panels on the car are not that heavy, I'd be interested to see how much weight you actually shed. Can you post a couple pictures on here of what your car looks like now NYbladeZ?

I know they aren't that heavy but upon removing the and carrying them around, the carbon fiber pieces were always lighter. Add to it that I was fully sponsored for a lot of the pieces I ended up with a one of a kind car. I will say this, if I knew I'd take it this route I wouldn't have gone red, and although I kinda like the red rear quarters and roof when its all said and done, I'll probably get flat black overlays when its all said and done. I'll post pics soon.

Just a few other things, I've installed a braille battery which is a very noticable difference! I've also removed everything in the rear, spare, jack and everything else back there. Warning, if you do remove everything you will get light in the rear and it will be more figgity. Thankfully the wife gave me the green light to get M. Bonnani's Kognition Wing that was for sale on here. That should create more than enough downforce, and hopefully coilovers to follow.

Other than carbon shell seats and amt wheels I can't think of any other weight savings short of stripping the interior and hammering out the sound deafening.

Which Braille battery did you install? Has it been fine for your daily driven use?

I'm picking up the odyssey...same thing as the braille...I think someone even told em they are made by the same company, but the odyssey tends to go into bikes and watercraft. If I'm not mistaken, the odyssey is also a good amount cheaper.

Yes, you would be OK if it gets driven twice a week. I know people who have left their cars in storage over winter and had no problems with them.

Meaning like 1-2 years?
No idea, I have checked the 350 forum and some guys ran them for a couple years with no problems while others replaced them after 13 months.

A couple of years is fine, I just don't want to have it die out when I have to go to work or something, I don't know if it matters but it should still be fine with the aftermarket nav running off it right?

I have the 15 lb braile in mine and i have to charge it every 4 days or my car will not start. The car is in the garage now and it takes a quick 15 min 2 amp triclle charge.
If i drive it every 3rd day there is now problems, but once the temp started to drop 30's to mid 20's it starts but you can feel the battery is a little low on cranking power.
If i disconect the Battery from the car it hold the charge for a long time.
I always leave the hood popped open on the car if im not going to drive it for a while in the garage.

I think our ECU pulls a trickle - I have a problem with battery drain as well... a shut-off switch is in order

ive ran a few brailles 15lbs in the past..id highly recommend a battery tender if its not daily driven...they would usually last me around 18months..
