The flimsy looking stock rear camber arms got weighed today. Probably not going to get any lighter than that with aftermarket stuff, but here you go...

well, replacing the seats with 13lb frp's, two piece rotors, wheels, aluminum race calipers, maybe the hatch with a CF one.
not to mention aluminum drive train mounts. lighter CF driveshaft and carbonetics CF clutch kit (350z one weighs 25 lbs for entire clutch and pressure plate assembly)

then just tack on headers, Titanium Test pipes, Titanium Catback, Dual intakes, Tune. which would lop off another 30lbs+

and you've have yourself quite a quick car. a little noisy but fast and fun.

if money was no option people could have a 2900-3100lb Z with 400bhp

Eh, money no object people could have a 2500lb Z with 1800RWHP.

I'm pretty sure the driveshaft in the Z is already carbon. As far as a carbonetics clutch, thats interesting and will be noted when something is released, but there's easier and cheaper places to take weight off on. The problem of course is how far the average person wants to go on their daily driver.

I'm waiting for Seibon to make a rear hatch, roof and hood in carbon....that will not only reduce weight, but also lower the center of gravity. The Sunline carbon roof is only a cover that will just add weight sadly.

can the roof of this car even be replaced? the hatch may save some weight.. but sadly the hood only saves MAYBE 3 pounds.. because it is already aluminum.. at least this is the case on the G37 and the 370z also has an aluminum hood.. but every pound counts in the long run..

True, but obviously your money accounts for something. a $600 dollar hood saving you 3lbs will not be as good of an investment as investing that money in a performance part.

the reason i say carbon fiber driveshaft is because an aftermarket version will weigh less then the OEM one ussually

tvfreakazoid - To answer both your questions...

The PC680 works fine for high horsepower applications. My time attack 350Z puts down 700+whp and runs off a PC680.

I assume you are talking about the BRIDE Zeta III seats? They are very comfortable once you are in them, but I daily drove my Evo IX with a set of Zeta IIIs for a long time and it was a pain in the *** getting in & out of the car, or getting your wallet or cell phone out of your pockets. Not recommended for a daily driver.
