Wow. Getting this car to be lighter will not be too bad at all. When I pick up mine, I will probally also do an Odyssey. Let's see:
1. Wheels & Tires (CE28N's) = about 20 pounds less 2. Aftermarket Exhuast (probally Nismo) = let's say 10 pounds less when compared to the last Nismo exhaust. 3. Odyssey Batter = 20 pounds 4. No spare = 35 pounds EQUAL: 85 pound reduction. WOW.... DD - Will the PC680 work on a car that only get driven two to three times a week?? |

Stock Battery = 35 lbs.
http://www.doubledownmotorsports.com...teryweight.jpg So we are talking about a 71 lb. weight loss by just removing the spare, sub, and tools along with replacing the battery with an Odyssey PC680! Thats nuts. Thats the cheapest pound per dollar savings you can get! |
dang, def not bad...

Just a heads up for you guys.
Braille is simply a rebadged Deka battery, I've purchased both for my evo and both performed equally well. Again Deka sells the exact same battery as Braille at around half the cost. Its just a matter of finding the model number (which completely escapes me at the moment). Just putting a word out to save you guys a few bucks. :) |
Love the info in this thread. Now we have a cost effective choice on batteries Oddesy and Deka. Great info guys.. Reps for both of ya.
RCZ no prob. On a side note when I first saw Voltphreaks I dont remember the prices being that high..The ones I saw initially way back were in the $400-700 range if my memory serves. Voltphreaks are great from what I heard if you have the disposable funds to justify that kind of coin for a battery. I love the Braile/Deka poundage per dollar ratio much better lol.... |
For the truly anal track rat who is after every lb of weight saving they can get how bout some lightweight wheel nuts. You can save a little more than a lb "overall". Not much per corner but it is about 1lb off the car overall...Muteki, Kyokugen, Rays etc all offer these lightweight lugs that are legal in most racing venues....
Free flow cats or testpipes should be lighter than the stock cats also so may save a lb or two there. It really gets hard after the major league boat anchors are removed. |

^^^That puts an end to that mod lol...Good info that most of us would have never known.
Wonder if we can get you to take out and weigh the stock seats/brackets for reference vs the seats RCZ listed:tup: |
