All Red Tail Lights & Reverse relocation
So awhile back I purchased Blue Bats turn signal/reverse overlay in the red tint to give the entire tail light an all red appearance. I have not put them on yet, but I will be in a couple weeks. My plan is to put the overlay on and then a slight tinted clear coat over the whole light to give a slight tent to the whole thing. So, in doing so... I am pretty much doing away with the reverse light - and I was needing some advice on how to go about relocating it.
One idea I have is to buy a rear fog light and wire the reverse to go to the fog instead of the tail lights. I saw some people were connecting to the reverse and having it flash, but I failed to find a diagram of the connections that need to be made for this to happen. On an added note with the rear fog... does anyone know if any of the suppliers of the rear fogs will do white leds instead of the red ones? After doing so, is it possible to use the wires connected to the reverse bulbs in the tail light to the turn signal lights? Would there be too much wattage for this to happen? Just looking for some advice with this. Thanks guys! |
Bringing this back a year later lol......
I am in the same boat, looking to do away with the reverse section in the tails. The only reason being that I'd like the "all red" look. So I'm looking to either use an overlay, or VHT paint to do it. A buddy of mine did it to his WRX and it looked awesome. As far as my reverse, I just ordered iJDM's rear light that includes a reverse section. It can be wired so it incorporates; a running / fog light, a break light, and the reverse light. After that's installed I plan to paint the white section, so the entire tail light is red. Any thoughts / opinions? |
