Would you guys be interested in this?
I spent a couple days messing with flows and some programs and was able to come up with a cool set up for my tablet, so i no longer need to manually turn it off/on and it can finally be one with the car.
It automatically turns on as the car turns on and when the car is on, the screen is set to maximum brightness and always turned on. Soon after, it plays a greeting of my choice, and plays music from a playlist of my choice. When the car is turned off, the music is automatically stopped, and the tablet revokes its previous settings regarding brightness and goes into sleep mode after 15 seconds. And the cycle repeats... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Cgj...ature=youtu.be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzJ14EK1-rk Two different styles. One auto plays music, whereas the other simply brings up your default music player. |
Cool! I like the greeting voice. Futuristic.

Got pics of your setup?

But can you remove the tablet?
|
Yes. But I bought a second tablet so I can l can leave it in there.
|
Will it work on any tablet?
|
My setup is for droid but as long as u can run an app with the same compatibility of Automate u should be good.
I recently changed the voice to a male Brit, kinda like Jarvis lol |
Workflow automation. Reminds me of Apples automator.
edit: Did you develop the app? |

Many hours later and a headache I finally got it to work flawlessly. |
However the custom text to speech voices are from multiple different apps. That was another headache, finding voices that sound legit and are free. 99% of the legit voices are highway robbery

Well after a couple messages on here and on the thread as well as a bunch of people on the 370z facebook page; clearly some people want to know how to do it.
I'm already working on making a video, just give me some time! I work as a CO and my shift is the night shift, so its dark when I get home and I can't really record it. Having to do it on days off when I have time. The job/apps are 100% free. Mounting the tablet is a whole different animal. I actually haven't gotten into officially mounting the tablet. It has been on there with double velcro strips over the cubby, I actually liked it since I only had one tablet and used it outside the car. But eventually I got tired of having to turn it on/off, mess with the brightness, ect. So I did this job and now got a second tablet. I'm currently into the process of taking off the dash and putting it in permanently. Im actually going to be using magnets drilled into the cubby for it. I have a buddy who did the same thing(not a Z) and he will be helping me with the job. His looks amazing. So, technically you could still remove it, but its going to look alot more professional. If a mod could change the title of thread that'd be great. Anything relevant will do. I'll just be posting everything on here. *Updated with another different style video instead of auto playing the music* |
I just bought a nexus 7 tablet. Can you give me more info on how to do this? Thx!
