Carbon Fiber Trim Pieces
Ive been searching online for some carbon fiber trim/dash covers. Found a site that has exactly what I want. Before I drop $120 I wanna see if anyone else out there has used or heard of this company: 2009-Up Nissan 370Z Main Dash Trim Kit, w/o Navigation, w/ Single CD Player, 14 Pcs Auto Accessories
Thanks guys! |

It will look like crap. OP, look into Dinoc vinyl if you want to wrap interior pieces. It looks nice and fairly easy to apply (NOT cheap looking like stickers)

DO NOT USE DINOC. That stuff looks way too cheap and easy. If you want a decent carbon look to your interior and you don't want to shell out for actual carbon (which you should) instead use vvivid vinyls high gloss carbon fiber vinyl. Very realistic even upclose. I've wrapped my mirrors, switch covers, and pillars in the stuff and it came out great. Keep in mind I've since grown up and put in real carbon. PM me if you have any more questions.

i use dinoc on the switch trim, cup holder trim, lighted sills, and stereo bezel. looks nice, i wanted the matte cf finish for interior. it was still a fairly new concept back 4-5yrs ago when i installed them. i think people use the 3D cf films now a days. but i would stay away from glossy finish for interior as sun reflection is annoying... the newer matte ones ive seen are pretty similar to dinoc though, so not worth re-doing for me.
for exterior i use real cf pieces as i like them glossy on the outside. |

Here is my 2 cents on your question.
First of all, I am an ACTUAL user of what some are calling "stickers". Before I expound, from my experience, most negative comments about the product the OP is referring to(usually called a dash kit in the trade) are from guys that ,1)don't have any in their car or actually have had hands on experience,2) This what they have "heard". I've had a combo dash kit and hard molded carbon fiber in my other car(a 350) for over 3 years. No problems, looks as good today as when I installed it. The dash kit product(if you are going with CF)has real CF material covered with a bendable poly cover. 3M adhesive backing to install. Of course,I imagine there are some better dash kits and lower quality kits. CARid carries a quality brand. Depending on the scope of CF trim you wish to do,there are other sources that use traditional CF material. If your inside door barrels need covering, maybe on the exterior,Bpillar covers, i've found ZCF to be excellent. Personally, I hate the dinoc stuff. Its like covering parts with a Formica look-a-like material. Also, has no depth. Just sayin... |

carid sucks and the ones they carry are pos. i speak from experience.
the biggest issue i have with those interior stick on 'real' cf pieces are that they are thick. overlays are thin and wrap the trim entirely like paint. |

if hydro dips came with realistic cf, that would probably be the best simulated cf approach.
but the ones ive seen look pretty crappy so far. their other decorative patterns look cool though. |

I'm telling you, look into vvivid vinyls high gloss carbon fiber vinyl. 100% hands down best in terms of price, appearance, ease of use, and retaining factory fitment without the "bubled up" look of the stick on dash kits.
