Sourced my rattle
 

...its not actually from the dashboard lid, but its actually from the gearbox/knob. seems the rattle comes up when i tug or push the gearknob further than its engagement point. it sounds as if im pushing the gears against the metal casing and that they're grinding on the metal. its certainly distinctive but doesnt sound damaging. anyone else tried this? or has this?

like if uv say, engaged a gear in 3rd and ur driving and u happen to be holding the gearbox and just resting ur palm and slightly pushing it fwd..thats what i mean.

hummm... usually you dont want to be resting anything on the shifter lever.

shift, then let go of the knob. shift again, let go of the knob.

Strange - Mine is the opposite. I get the rattle above 5000rpm and when I push firmly on the shifter, the noise goes away

My triple cluster of gauges is rattling, too--just a bit, though. I've been thinking WHAT can I get in the tiny space between them and the dashboard, to stop the rattle! Any suggestions, dudes?! Thanks, and greetings from Puerto Rico!

mine is the same, but it starts making the noise a around 2500 RPM, if i touch the shifter knob the noise goes away
