Nothing instructions from z1 motorsports with I purchased an OEM z spoiler
I bought my OEM spoiler from Z1 motorsports, it took about 4 months to receive, they were saying every shipment they received had damaged wings, that was the delay. now When i received it didnt come with gas struts for the trunk nor did it come with the temp plate to install the spoiler. I called and I forgot who I spoke with but he said the spoiler is the only part that comes. Now Does anyone know where I can obtain directions and a temp plate? Screws/hardware were included.
Also, are the gas struts necessary? Thanks |

I think I saw a template thread in the DIY section. I do not know if it is still relevant or not though, I did not read the thread.
I have a factory spoiler template for 2009 370Z - Who wants it? |

I mentioned this in another thread. Try this:
Use the transfer technique. Use small zip ties. Secure the zip tie to the spoiler's mounting hole using a small amount of masking tape where tab end lands at the center of the hole. Repeat this process to the holes you want to use to bolt the spoiler. 4 is enough. Set your spoiler on the hatch checking for eveness and if centered. Better to have help holding the spoiler down. Transfer the zip ties onto the hatch by firmly holding the tie and taping it onto the hatch. Lift your spoiler off slowly. Get a sharpie to mark where the tab lands and that's your drill mark for your spoiler holes. Hope this helps. ---- I wonder where my taxes go. Now I know.

If you have no template I would not really do it. Pretty easy to be off. Even with the template I had to keep redoing it as it would move or something. Once you drill your committed.

Mine came with zip ties for the transfer method. It worked with no problems. As stated, put zip through mounting hole on spoiler, put rolled tape on end of zip tie, lay spoiler on trunk, remove spoiler and zip ties stay. I also taped off the area, traced the spoiler, and then measured from spoiler edge to installation holes to make sure I was really close just as a double check. My spoiler came from spoilersolutions.com. Its been on for a couple years now with no leaks. Pics at bottom of link,
