Moses has a carbon one on his carbon 370z. I think his name on here is billet370

Cooltoy

Thanks brutha.yea besides wiggins do you know anyone besides the wide body ones carbon signal did.just cause I got questions on install with it.

cooltoy 01-20-2015 01:48 PM

Sorry, just wiggins as far as I have seen so far.

Zbrah 01-20-2015 03:00 PM

Nice. Wiggins had his molded to the hatch. Did your come pre-drilled?

virtuosoondis 01-20-2015 03:04 PM

It has some spots under it that look like stock holes but everyone I talked to just say they molded it witch I don't really wanna do

cooltoy 01-20-2015 03:40 PM

There is this guy in Oman. I am not sure if he is a member here, but may be you can reach out to him on instagram.

What issues are you having with the spoiler? Maybe the guys here can chime in or contact CS directly for tips to install.

virtuosoondis 01-20-2015 04:09 PM

Just the fact no templates were made.i don't have spoiler on my hatch so I don't know we're stock spoiler mounts are and I don't wanna mold feel me?what y'all boys recomend to use or do?

Zbrah 01-20-2015 04:13 PM

My honest suggestion, take it to a body shop to install. They'll like to drill a couple holes into your hatch but atleast it'll be secured. Looks like it's needed paint anyway.

cooltoy 01-20-2015 04:37 PM

You can make your own template by using tracing paper. Trace the wing and the holes, cut out the paper, line up the paper on the trunk and drill. Measure 100 times, drill once.

virtuosoondis 01-20-2015 04:41 PM

Thanks guys I'll prob do that but if I do the template what's gonna hold the screw?

cooltoy 01-20-2015 05:21 PM

Can you take a picture of the underside of the spoiler?

virtuosoondis 01-20-2015 06:07 PM

Will do bro

Zbrah 01-20-2015 11:55 PM

Use 3M, lots of it and you should be fine. Here's how to do it.
How to properly install exterior parts with 3M double-sided foam tape - HeelToe Automotive

I still prefer to screw it in, but if you cant drill then 3M tapes, just follow the instructions.

I did 3M on my last car and it held up 20K+ miles before I got rid of the car. I didn't want to drill at the time because I was too much of a wuss to do it (still am), but it was actually very tough to removed when I parted it out, that stuff works really well. I bought a roll of this Amazon.com: 3M 03614 Scotch-Mount 1/2" x 15' Molding Tape: Automotive

Wiggins3377 01-21-2015 11:15 AM

This stuff also does wonders. Used it on my side skirts.

Zbrah 01-21-2015 11:20 AM

There's also this. Not used it yet but will give it a shot when I put on rear spats and diffuser.

Thanks cool toy,is that your own template u made?how u determine where holes are on it?

Zbrah 01-21-2015 05:12 PM

Or you can save yourself the hassle and sell me the spoiler:rofl2:

Shipping from dubai to cali is too much of a pain.

cooltoy 01-21-2015 05:26 PM

I think that is the official one for the sports spoiler. But I thought it might give you an idea of how to build one. You can see how they use the bottom and the sides of the trunk as reference points.

I guess the way I would do it (and this is all just hypothetical).

I would first cut out a piece of paper in a similar fashion as pictured, but somewhat rough at first.

Than center it on the trunk, tape it and mark the reference points at the bottom and sides. Draw a center line vertically on the template.

Then place the wing on top of the paper, as it would attach to the car and trace the outline of the wing. Remove the template from the trunk and cut out the excess.

Than tape it to the underside of the wing using the outline created mark the holes and you are ready to go.

Another option I would consider is maybe putting some kind of fluid or gel on the edges of the holes, that would be non-damaging to the paint, and carefully placing the wing on the trunk in its intended location and hopefully get the liquid to show where the holes would be.

virtuosoondis 01-21-2015 06:53 PM

Thanks for help fellas

Hear ya zbrah tell me bout that shipping.almost was as much as the spoiler.lol.i took advantage of blackfriday deal and saved me the shipping cost.

CarbonSignal 01-22-2015 12:03 AM

Sorry just saw it.

Usually there is one spot aligning with the tail light spoiler (easy to find) will only fit there mark that with the tape and stick it with silicone. We prefer not to use 3m tapes that much, as it increase an odd gap between part and body.

When installing it on sport trunk it lines with the holes so i think maybe that causing some issue in yours. Mainly we are not molding it. Adding some screws after silicone can give added strength.

cooltoy 01-22-2015 12:28 AM

He has a base, so no holes in the trunk. He is wondering the best way to mount it. Whether it is by drilling holes, or using something else. So you are recommending silicone without drilling?

No real need for drilling if a good silicone is used.

Just sand both spoiler and trunk nicely or let some professional install it.

that's what my body shop did.

Use the transfer technique. Use small zip ties. Secure the zip tie to the spoiler's mounting hole using a small amount of masking tape where tab end lands at the center of the hole. Repeat this process to the holes you want to use to bolt the spoiler. 4 is enough. Set your spoiler on the hatch checking for eveness and if centered. Better to have help holding the spoiler down. Transfer the zip ties onto the hatch by firmly holding the tie and taping it onto the hatch. Lift your spoiler off slowly. Get a sharpie to mark where the tab lands and that's your drill mark for your spoiler holes. Hope this helps.

If the bottom plastic piece on the inside of the hatch comes off,it should expose the metal on the inside?

virtuosoondis 01-22-2015 02:12 PM

Thanks fellas I really appreciate feedback.dont really wanna go to shop unless I need to cause I like to learn how to do these things.

 Took me a while to picture the process but I finally gets it. Brilliant idea Rafael!

cooltoy 01-22-2015 02:36 PM

Kind of like my fluid idea, but way easier.
