Okay. This image here has potential. The metal extending past the main body at the rear would have to go. The actual exhaust pipe exits at an angle and is much narrower. The tip actually conceals the hemispherical exhaust end that angles away back toward the resonator.
The back of the tip extends past the hemispherical exhaust by a small amount and looks like it 'floats' on the exhaust end. Fringe, I really appreciate what you're trying to do for us. The problem is you REALLY need a donor car to see exactly what you are working with. There has to be someone in Texas that can drop by and let you get all the measurements you need. I would make the drive myself if I could get the army to give me leave long enough! lol

Sorry for not explaining better. That inner tube extending out of the rear in that rendering is simulating the exhaust itself. I should have, but didn't draw it necking down and going toward the resonator like it actually does. The renderings down below that one don't show that tube at all.

Sorry for not seeing this response earlier! I am at work at the moment, but after I get home, I will remove one of my exhaust tips and make some measurements. I'll also measure the Exhaust Tip Bolt Hole diameter exactly for you. As per your first question, the nut for the tips are a 10mm wrench nut, and the bolt itself is a smooth rounded ---- **EDIT** It isn't a T-20 Torx bolt - turns out I lost the right sized torx wrench. I'm unsure what it is, but it probably doesnt matter in this application. I really hope this becomes a reality! I can't wait to get the measurements, haha.

Alrighty, as I promised, here are the pictures.
Here is the driver's side exhaust section, without the Ti tip: I measured the internal long-ways diameter of the oval on the exhaust section: As well as the distance from the end of the oval to the end of the exhaust (7.74mm): This is a somewhat rough measurement of the entire length of the larger diameter exhaust section, before it necks down: Inner diameter of the Ti tip mounting hole: And last but not least, total length of the stainless steel bolt: If you need any more measurements, let me know. I repeated each measurement a few times to make sure I didn't get it wrong, and each result was within .05 of the pictured measurements.

Thank you Alstann. Can you do one more thing? Will you verify that the tube with the slots in in fact 4.5" OD tubing? I believe the system I took my preliminary measurements from was an HKS copy, and I want to verify that these tips will fit your HKS setup. Don't want to get screwed by some silly inconsistency.
Other than that, I will make the adjustments and prepare the drawing for quoting. I should have prices in less than 2 weeks. I wil renew our vendor status here and once the required number of pre-orders are filled, it will take about a month to start shipping tips. It's almost time for the hardest part...picking the colors. Below are some renderings of the new perforated tip that is going on my bike and being adapted to the GTRs. Is this something some of you might dig? Obviously the "Afterburner" isn't for everyone...so we have a few other designs in the pipeline. Let me know you thoughts.

No problem Fringe! Here are the requested pics of the exhaust end of the HKS exhaust.
Here is the section that I measured... And this was the reading. It is indeed 4.5 inch OD piping. Mmm, colors. I don't know if I could decide between a brushed, reflective tip or a more satin finish tip.

My vote would be a satin finish like the hyper silver wheels and trim....

Alright! Thank you all, this is epic and I think the first time something like this has been done... usually people make something and just try to sell you on how awesome it is, then tell you that you have to buy it however they give it to you.
We do it a little different. We allow you to make it YOURS. We aren't afraid to ask for input or just generally be straight with people. Fabrication and manufacturing can be a strange world. Generally we see salesmen that need something to sell so they can chase dollars...and fabricators tend to build things because they enjoy building things. What I've seen this lead to on multiple occasions is salesmen (or anyone else with some money) readily take advantage of a fabricators love of creation and just swoop in and claim ownership of whatever is being created, since they feel that without them there wouldn't be any sales. Fact is, without the creators creating, there would be nothing to sell and no reason to have "salesman". Fringe XVO is taking it back. We are not salesman. Well maybe Carl is a little bit, but he is multi-purpose. I give you my word, Fringe will NEVER BE RUN BY SALESMAN. Granted, we have to generate sales, right? The point I'm trying to make here is that we aren't out to SELL you on anything. We are just here to be awesome. We are just here to do cool and fun stuff, because it's fun and awesome to do that...and we want you to want it. We like things that look good. We like things that look good AND function. Sometimes the function is just to look good. Sometimes the function is to make power. Either way, everything is function. People often don't get it. Sometimes just looking good IS THE FUNCTION, and some things just function better than others. If I type "function" again I'm gonna shoot myself, but the point is this: We are not here to get rich. We are not here to be "ballers". We simply exist to do great things. Either you get it or you don't. Happy 4th.

As for the tip design, I know it might be late in the game now, but I just had a thought this morning - fellow owners of HKS exhausts will know this. From the side of the car, you can see where the Ti tip "stops," as in the backside of the tip, near the muffler cans. If there was a way to have an elongated side on the FringeXVO tips, it would give the illusion from the side of the car that the tip is contininous. Just food for thought. Either way, I can't wait to see production pictures!

hmmmm... not sure about that.... If they are not symetrical, then they might look poser'ish. I think leaving them the same length as the stock HKS tips is best. I don't mind the 'sleeved' look.

We could make them a little longer than the HKS slip-on tubes. How much room do we have before the tip would contact the exhaust muffler?
