Anyone with Invidia High Flow Cats?
Does anyone here have Invidia HFC's? There's lots of comments and reviews on ERZ, Berks and Stillen, but I can't seem to find any on Invidia. Will be getting Stillen G3 intake and Invidia Gemini exhaust...considering whether or not to compliment with Invidia HFC, or any HFC at all. Want performance, cool sound would be nice, but definitely don't want loud.
Also, it seems like installing HFCs tend to trip the SES light quite frequently, or so it seems from the threads I've been reading. Does that really happen that often? |
Anyone?

Generally speaking, CBE is going to make the biggest improvement on sound. HFC's are going to make it all much louder and add a little bit of hiss but they don't do much to the tone. If you're not sure how loud you can stand then just do the CBE first and decide after.

Thanks For the response Chris. I was hoping to get user feedback on the Invidia HFC (reliability, quality, problem-free installation, lack of rasp/drone, etc) because if people were happy with it I would consider ordering it at the same time as the Gemini CBE from the same source, which would save me on shipping and installation since it can be all done at the same time.
I have a pretty good idea how the CBE will sound cause I have an Invidia exhaust on my FX45. It's how loud the Invidia HFC will make it that I don't know b/c there are no youtube vids or user reviews for it. Bluestyle55 has an awesome video comparing the different configurations with the ERZ HFC. But perhaps I'll either get a known configuration that's not too "noisy" or buy each piece one at a time...but is the Invidia unit worth taking a look at??? |
From the myg37 forum.
"Invidia HFC is the best quality HFC I've ever seen." "I have the Invidia HFC's on my 09 G37X Coupe AWD, fitment is perfect. Sounds decent. Power is definately improved, i also have Stillen Gen 3's I had the full Invidia Gemini Exhaust, even modified it to fit around the AWD unit, and wife complained car was to loud and woke the kids, so had to go back to stock. Exhaust is for sale in classified section if anyone wants one." Most all HFC's function the same, there won't be much difference in sound or performance from that component as most of them are using the same cores. Changing the exhaust alone increases volume slightly but mostly gives a better low end tone. Adding HFC on top of that may increase loudness more than you want. You can't tell loudness from a video either, you have to experience it in person. |
True enough. Thanks for finding that commentary.
