It looks like I will need the additional bracket, but please confirm. If so, will this hamper its performance in any way?

Spartan, from the video, it looks as if you may not need to alter your setup with the cooler being that short. I would try just removing the bracket with the oil cooler still attached and temporarily drop it down while installing the Air-Guide. Then just see if it clears. I think it may..
No increased temperature or negative impacts have been found or reported at this time. Should be just fine. The air guide leaves plenty of room for air flow.
