Driving me spare

Was wondering which countries get spare wheels with their cars?

The UK models have no spare just a "repair kit", which means the usual bottle of liquid tyre sealant muck

PS sorry for the title pun, it was unavoidable :o

For Germany it depends on whether you buy a base or a "Pack" version.
The base version comes with the standard 18" wheels and a spare.
The "Pack" version, though the 19" RAYS being optional here, is only available with a repair kit, no matter what wheel size you chooZe.

So you still get the spare with the 19" Rays or is it just on the base?

OK, seems I got it a bit wrong. I phoned one of the bigger dealers in the UK and they tell me it's exactly the same here. Sounds like it's the same across Europe.

I just found out itīs because of the European version of the Bose audio system that comes with the "Pack"age.
Below the trunk mat, where the spare wheel would be, sits a large round plastic box that says "BOSE" on it...
Looks like some audio components.

That is the subs for the Bose system. US Z's have them in the touring package but no matter what package you get in the states you always get the spare tire.

^ I see you have a US spec Z over there in Germany with the sub and the spare. Just a couple of questions.... Is the spare 18" and do you know if the US and Euro subs are exactly the same?

Congrats btw, you must be lovin' it!? (not literally of course)

Oh not yet I am waiting still the car reached the port in the states now I am waiting for it to come to germany but been on this forum since it opened. The spare is 18' and the euro and us subs should be the same I dont see why they would be different.

Never use that tire gunk. When you take it to the tire shop to get the tire taken off, it makes such a mess (I used to work at a garage, this was miserable).

I once saw a guy driving 90mph have his tire explode after "fixing" it with that stuff. It sprayed all over the side of his car, bright green.

Yep, in the UK (as everywhere I believe) if you have the BOSE (i.e. GT and GT Ultimate) then you have no spare. The base model with 18" wheels has a space saver.

The roadster in the USA does NOT get a spare unless you are in the State of Maryland where it is required by law.
