I've talked to EVERYONE and NOBODY knows anything when it comes to the Nav systems. One dealer here in Austria told me that they'd have to pull the entire computer and replace it, but couldn't offer any guarantee that it'd work.

Even the sub $200 Garmins and TomTom units feature the option to switch maps based in where you are. You mean to tell me the $1800 option on my new Z can't do the same thing?

I've spoken with Nissan North America - clueless. Dealer - same. I've called and talked to Nissan Europe twice and on each occasion they took down my info and said they'd look into it and get back to me. In both instances they've completely ignored me.

Everyone I've talked to always gives me the same song and dance "Contact your dealer" who has been unable to find out either. Even when I've contacted my dealer's service department those guys didn't know either and on one occasion basically hung up on me. They transferred me to the guy that sold me the car - who at this point really has no incentive to help - he has my money.

I have to say that post sales support on Nissan vehicles, at least in my experience, is utterly pitiful. Reading some of the other posts here it seems that these folks have had similar experiences. I'm a long time (Z) Nissan owner, but this will be my last one. Such poor support on such a high dollar item is inexcusable. If I'd bought it from wall-mart I'd have returned it by now (and had better support doing so).

Final attempt: I've spent the $300 bucks on a euro nav update DVD from Navteq. Not likely to work, but Ill post back and let you know either way.

WOW...that really sucks. I'm assuming that you've looked online for NISSAN 307Z Euro/US map compatibility...

Please do let me know how that disc works, I know I definitely don't want to go through the same hassle you've been through
