Sorry to revive an old thread, but I am getting ready to ship my 2012 370z to the UK and was hoping to load European maps onto the navigation. Has anyone been able to do this successfully? If so, can you please let me know how you managed to do it?
Thank you! |

US to UK
Unfortunately,is not possible load Euro maps to 2011-2015 USDM units . Help only unit replacement .But this work also is not PLUG@PLAY, as used Euro Nissan NAVI units factory locked for works on the other car . New Euro units needs for special programming for installing on non EUR car . Nissan dealers not help for !
......I did not say that it is impossible , I done lot such conversions for GTRs and Infiniti ! So, let type in Google "LEGERTAS GTR" , will find more answers Last edited by legertas; 03-25-2015 at 01:35 AM. |

Yea, so, in other words, basically impossible. I wound up buying a Garmin in the US (important step as GPS units in Europe / UK are way more expensive) and downloading Euro Maps for it.

Yea i know it's a bummer. I researched this about as far as anyone could. The issue is that the US and Europe systems are completely different down to the hardware. No clue why they do this and yes, it sucks to have to stick a nasty Garmin on your windshield when you have a nice built in unit in the dash.
BMWs are worse in this regard. The computers in the US vs Euro models are purposely set up to disallow import of a US model back into Europe. This is because a US BMW is 2/3 the cost. Prior to them making the change, people were re-importing BMWs back into the EU at significantly reduced costs. That all said, there are aftermarket car PC options that you could do. Also android integration has been done as well. These are pretty invasive options, but having it to do again, I'd likely go that route. If you're interested, there are tons of videos on YouTube on the subject. Good luck! |

..... to be exact. Completely different navi system hardware of 2008-2009 years . Since 2010-, the American and European systems are almost identical ! Difference of hardware : USA units has SAT radio options , Euro units use RDS for traffic or weather information receiving .
Fully different software and of course maps ! But as said, for me it is not a barrier ! |
