I noticed that on your Website the Takeda intake for the 370z does not show a heat sheild like the pic above. Does the NISSAN 370Z - TR-3009P Takeda intake come with a heat shield?

I did little more research and finally found an independent dyno for the Takeda Intake for a 2008 Civic Si. The members on the Honda-tech forum were wondering what I was wondering how the intake for their car can possible produce even close to 17whp claimed by Takeda. Well the independent dyno showed an increase of 12whp on a 4cyl! Not the claimed 17whp but damn if the Takeda can produce an additional 12whp on a 4cyl with a single intake then the Takeda for the 370z should be able to get at least 12whp.
Link: Takeda intake review - Honda-Tech I know these are completely different cars but the 370z has two intakes and the dyno done on the Civic was on a really hot day. Dyno showing shop temps of 115F. So my concern about these things getting heat soaked and not producing power is not as much of a concern for me. I went to your website to purchase the intake however there is a place to enter a coupon number. Is there a coupon number for this part? Or is the 349.00 the sale price? |

Takeda 370Z CAI video
+18hp/+20 lbs tq! you can definately hear the sound difference though, sounds good. hard to believe...they also had the hood open during the dyno in the video above, also hard to tell if they had a fan blowing into the engine bay... need independent dynos!

Re: the graph above:
1) Those aren't horsepower on the blue numbers, it's some other scale used outside the US, like PS or whatever, I think. Maybe whoever made that graph can confirm, or we can see a pic without the edges cropped off so we can see the units, etc. Need to convert the numbers to horsepower and ft/lbs first to compare if they aren't. and 2) The HP/Torque crossover moves up about 2,000 RPM between the before and after. I know when using the standard US units (Horsepower and Ft/lbs) the crossover should always be at 5252 RPM, which the "before" graph appears to be at...), but perhaps whatever units they are using make that work out differently. Or perhaps there's some error in generating the graph, I don't know. |
