Default Opinions needed:ZSpeed HD CSC or Z1 Motorsports Slave Delete

Hey guys i'm just looking to pick your brains a bit here as i'm in a bind as to what to order. Has there been any reports of people blowing out the HD slave cylinder or should I just delete the thing and forget about? Looking for unbiased opinions. If you do have the Z1 delete did you replace your master at the time of install as well?

Thanks in advance

There have been failures to the HD CSC from ZSpeed but almost all of them are linked to having a shitty SPEC clutch. If you aren't running a SPEC clutch then you are probably going to be fine. That being said there is some romance to deleting the thing completely. I haven't heard enough feedback on the Z1s delete kit to base an opinion.

I believe the Z1 kit is basically just how the 350z cars were with an adapter to fit it to our transmission.
I saw one of the elimination kits early on (a non-Z1 version) and it was all Nissan OEM parts minus 2 pieces.

This. Joe at Zspeed had told me that pretty much the only failures he's seen are linked to SPEC clutches.

The 350Z didn't have a CSC?

I was under the impression that the CSC failures have been common since the 350/G35 days

They might also, I just remember someone mentioning that the elimination kits were mostly OEM parts and probably off a 350z design, maybe it was a different Nissan car they were thinking of.

Hmmm...maybe the DE didn't have one, but I was almost positive the HR version shared our troubles.

Could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time

Well i have a twin disk spec ss clutch, and ye they used too many umm lets call it pressure metal thiny that presses the clutch to the flywheel, i mean i counted 4 on each stack, which is tooo many in my opinion i remember removing 1 form each stack and that made the clutch weaker about 25%=less stress on the csc n cmc, although i have a stock engine it still grabs nice.

Yes, the HR's had the same type of slave cylinder mounted in the bellhousing, which also had a high failure rate. The DE's had the external slave, same as the Z1 kit.
Presto and jwick like this.

The only issues I've seen with the Zspeed HD were due to a spec clutch or incorrect installation. It is generally recommended to replace the MC whenever you replace the CSC.
