Z turns off after use of paddle shifters

Hi guys. I have a 2010 370z automatic. I use the paddles shifters a lot and I ran into a problem. The problem is when I turn on my car after using the paddles my car will start to turn on and then it just shuts off. The battery stays on but the engine just cuts off. I have notcied that this has only happen after using paddles. Im not sure what is causing this but a mechanic told my that my idel sounds like it's dieing and I probs need new sparkplugs. Not sure if that's the problem but was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or might know what it is

Is the car in neutral/park ??

I can't imagine the paddles having any effect on starting - they aren't part of the starting circuit. There are several other threads about start-then-die problems, if you can't find them using the site's search try using Google and add "site:the370z.com" to your search string.

I tried searching on Google already and found nothing, but I didn't look anything about the Z just dieing randomly. I will look that up now but it only happens after I use the paddles. And I'm always in park.

Am curious what is it? Tranny electrical? Torque converter?

Paddles are tied into a circuit in the gauge cluster. If there is something wrong with the cluster it could tell the ECU thats its unsafe to shift. Most of the time that would trip limp mode.

Check all your fuses under the dash, then start looking at fuse box in engine bay. If all is good. It's a bad cluster.

Starter circuit doesn't do anything after the car is started, just stays on On Pos until you turn it off. The ECU is getting a bad signal causing it to shut off.

How do I know this; I don't. I just swapped my AT cluster for a NISMO MT cluster and experienced a few thing that surprised me. Like my paddle sifters stopped working, car kept running tho. The Park, Drive, Reverse, Neutral worked. But the point is the paddle shifter is tied into the cluster and cluster tell Engine and Trany what to do!

:twocents: I hope this helped.
