If you get a obd reader like the elm 327 or Plx kiwi then you can do that. Buy one of those and you can pick up check engine codes and are able to clear them. I am not sure if it's the app or the reader. Probably both in combination. What are the problems that you're having?

So I got my obd2 elm 327 in but it will not turn off. I left it plugged in for 20 min and it was still on when I got back. Any ideas?

The experience I've had with my reader is they will remain on as long as it is plugged in. I don't think there is much power draw. I've left it in overnight multiple times and never had any battery issues.

this is an old thread but I had some questions and didn't want to waste space with a new thread. I'm searching for a good obd2 scanner to track stats on my z. I want to be able to data log, track specs, and check codes, etc. I was about to pull the trigger on the new one Z1 is offering (link below) but wanted to ask before I made a bad purchase. what will be the best one for the same price?

I ordered the Kiwi 3 myself and will give it a try soon. Early impressions on the Harry's LapTimer forums are good. So far, I've been using Automatic, which works fine, but occasionally has trouble authenticating when there is no signal available (as is the case for some tracks). If the Kiwi 3 solves that problem and performs identically otherwise, I'll be happy.

i got the Scan Tool OBDLINK LX. This model turns itself off after a few minutes to prevent battery drain. Not sure if the Kiwi 3 has this feature.

Just did a search for "Bluedriver" and found a couple of old threads including this one.

I purchased a Bluedriver OBDII scanner on a recommendation from someone on another 370Z Forum.

Plugged it in today and it works very well with the 370Z.

OBDLink MX Bluetooth is the fastest and best way to go. However, the last I heard, it does not work with iOS due to their proprietary Bluetooth stack. I've used extensively with Android (Nexus 7) and have been completely satisfied with it.
