NST pulley install on AT? Please help!
Does anybody have a write up DIY on this? How do you stop the motor from turning when taking off the Crank pulley? If you also know for the alternator pulley as well that'll help greatly! Thank you.

Here is the link to the factory workshop manual - you need to "lock" the crank at the rear using the starter ring gear ....
Clips from the manual are here: |
this is not recommended but it's what i resorted to after the non-dodgy methods failed me.
bump it loose with the starter motor (basically brace your breaker bar at about the 4 o clock position with it a few inches off the ground, foot one brake pedal, press start then let go of brake pedal before it starts). Make sure you use a good bar and an impact socket. Torqueing up the bolt on a 7AT is going to be your challenge. It was difficult to do it on a manual and i never got the full rotation after initial torque was achieves (you have to torque it to x Nm then rotate it a further 2/3 or something. |
