W00+? The bushings are OUTSIDE the rear diff carrier. The BEARINGs are inside the rear diff carrier. The guy w/the WHINE problem had a re-used BEARING fail on him....He didn't say if it was the front or rear pinion bearing....
Any IDI0+ can tell where the subframe bushing and two "ear" diff bushings go...

I bought a brand new bearing using the bearing a seal kit from Z1. I believe it was the front main pinion bearing because the drive shaft was also moving, could be wrong though. so yea the bearing was new so I probably just got charged for a improper install, but it's all fine now and I don't really feel like complaining

to bring this thread back to life - as I am going to install some Whiteline diff bushings this weekend.

The G37 guys were saying to install the front ear bushings reverse of the instructions with the Thick bushings on top and thin on bottom - they say the pinion angles are more correct this way - thus lessening the drive train noises.

Anyone else concur?

Exactly what I asked a few posts above, the whine is cause depending on how you install the bushings. There is a thick one and a thin one. Where did everyone put either one on the diff? No one answered the question .

Ok so got my Whiteline bushings, installed, thick on top thin on the bottom. .. and G37 guys are correct, very similar to stock. And the rear is more planted...that Factory stock rear bushing was a nightmare to get out.

I can confirm that it makes a big difference on how you install the bushings. I installed them by the install instructions and got a whine at 20, 40 and 60... So I researched and came across this post... So I reversed the install... And all the noise is gone.... My car is back to normal... I know this is an old post... Just an FYI

So reading this I am just waitgoing no till the day my oem one blows out since I know they all do. Has anyone ran just the rear Whiteline and keep the Oem front? Since it's only the rear that fails it would be a nice halfway setup.

If you go through the trouble of removing the differential... I would just go ahead and replace all the bushings. Looking at my front bushings, I did see where they where starting to tear.. My Z is not a daily and I do track it... 1/8 and 1/4 mostly... I can imagine a daily that is also tracked would be in worse conditions... So I would just go ahead and replace them.. You won't regret it..
