no? right now its at the tuners and I'm trying to figure out where the squeal I'm getting in the bell-housing is coming from. only happens at hot idle. I'm thinking it could be the rear main seal thanks to the vacuum in the crankcase

Congrats on making 401whp

1slow370 10-03-2020 08:09 PM

Yep once I get the graph I will make up a post unless husam does It first. But this is NOT the end

1slow370 11-18-2020 05:48 PM

So everybody knows we hit 401 in 4th gear and while unfortunate for this thread I am going a different direction with the winter build. No issues with the engine but it is finding a different home under a different owner and the car while be going a separate but equally crazy route. No heretical engine swaps it will still be a vq but it will be done differently and there are big changes coming chassis wise.i will update in a couple weeks may make a new thread more suited to the new dieection

1slow370 11-18-2020 05:53 PM

Only hint I will give is that I'm doing something else that hasn't been done before. For those wondering why the change, well it's because I already have a better big power na track car being built right now and I don't need 2 of them

BGTV8 11-19-2020 01:39 AM

You want a Nissan VQ56 supercar engine from Kelly Bros Racing in Melbourne .... that will wake it up !!!!

I have a build like that going in my '74 so even that wouldn't change it. Although the one I'm building doesn't meet the class rules so we will see. Its getting slightly smaller cams, ti rods, mahle pistons, and uses a different block.

Oh believe me it's just as, if not more, interesting than the current setup. It's also "pure" as far as the brand and the car are concerned and it's done on a budget except for 1 part that if I can manage to work with someone to make and sell will let anyone do the same thing.

1slow370 11-25-2020 06:39 PM

Also I will have some improvements to the cd009 coming next year as well. Some real game changing parts.

Like?

1slow370 11-30-2020 08:41 AM

Like you will find out next year lol. I'm putting the first one together over the next couple weeks and I don't see getting any real testing in until March or April thanks to this white ******** we have raining from the sky

JARblue 11-30-2020 09:20 AM

That sounds like a $0.75 answer. What's the $12.50 answer? :icon17:

Lol, he is just putting in the tip

1slow370 11-30-2020 05:54 PM

it could still not work out correctly so no need to get your hearts set on any certain thing until i have actual results. I'm not Sam.

Transfer Case. AWD is your venture.

1slow370 12-11-2020 10:16 AM

Yep and since I'm about to lose 40hp no point in trying for the N/A record on this car anymore. I'm also going to be getting my a/c back along with some spooly boys. Might revisit the suspension and brakes while I'm at it.

Oooo say no more

1slow370 01-29-2021 09:22 PM

Bought all the supplies hopefully I will have the first cd009 awd trans assemblied early March. I'm drawing up sequential shift linkage right now but it's kind of a pain. Looking into converting the gearset to dog rings as well. I have found a vendor that can do it but I'm trying to drop the price a little. Also working on stronger 3rd and 4th gears.

1slow370 01-29-2021 09:24 PM

I'm trying to get the built awd trans down to 5000 no cores and the built red trans to 3000 but it's been throwing me some curveballs

1slow370 01-29-2021 09:27 PM

The sequential shift bits have really snowballed in price to get the longevity and easy retrofit ability. I'm shooting to be able to have any manual trans rebuild shop just drop it in with no machining but the speed sensor in the Rev match trans has been messing things up. It might be base trans only

1slow370 01-29-2021 09:31 PM

I said I'm working on game changing stuff and I think a budget dog engagement sequential cd009 fits that

Sooo you’re trying to build a sequential cd009 for rwd and awd applications? And trying to get the cost down to 3k for rwd and 5k for awd?

You going to build here transmission yourself, or just provide the parts and have other shops put them
Together?

1slow370 02-01-2021 11:47 AM

I'm probably going to have to work with a shop on it. I don't want to build a ton of them but parts of trans need to be modified. Maybe I could have shops mail me the parts after tear down machine them and send them back. Maybe it'll be too much of a hassle. Need to finish the first one to know

Any updates on the trans.

1slow370 09-17-2021 10:49 PM

It's still in pieces, I'm slowly rebuilding a fresh awd motor with upgraded headbolts and regapped rings so I don't bust a ring land at 600wheel. Got another motor out getting the block machined for an "oem" 4.0l stroker with gtr pistons and forged rods. The trans is going to stay with synchros for now as liberty is being a bitch with selling me just the faceplates. I will be faceplating my other trans for the vk 260z though once they release them. The awd trans has been a pita at every step. I have had to machine custom parts to get the shifter linkage in the tail housing to even work. I have pretty much decided that if I do try to make another one I'm going to have to basically take it back apart and refine it so it's all machined new parts instead of adapting it. What makes it all slower is the car is 50miles from my apartment.

JARblue 09-18-2021 09:40 AM

Well I'm glad it will be an easy process :ugh:

Good luck on the progress

1slow370 11-08-2021 08:23 PM

Started a new thread in the appropriate section

THE BULL 12-16-2022 02:22 PM

Just finished this thread and man!!!Congrats on that.

At this point in time it makes me look back at all of these great builds and it makes me wonder what could they have done if they were in Florida a 0 elevation running M1/M5.

Makes me excited about the future of these engines once folks delve into nitro fuels
