if you want something developed for a vq call the shop and place an order we do custom manifolds. could probably buy a car for what it would cost though lol

Can anyone confirm what cams are in the car? I see he typed the 282, but that's not a thing. It's either 272 or 288. 282 seems the more likely typo for 272, so I'm assuming it is the 272, but I'm about to put an order in for some and wanted to double check.

Also, what springs? I've got a PM to 1slow370 and going to email Jun as soon as I get done here, just wanted to know if Bullit or anybody knew firsthand as this would probably be the quickest answer.

Well, this record stands no longer. Z1 just broke it at 376hp NA

I love Z1 as a company and the support they bring to the community.. but I've seen countless videos and dyno sheets from them. Their dyno appears to be overinflated. Many other shops post similar dyno sheets of cars with similar mods and they dont even come close to the numbers I see coming from Z1. I'm not a hater, I think this is an awesome build. But I think it would be fair to put that car on another dyno and see what it can do.

Dyno numbers you just have to accept. Yes, numbers can vary due to many things. Dyno type, Temp, humidity, etc. Spencer stated the numbers in the video for the Z1 full race engine. This car beat those numbers. Plus, he has stated his before numbers of 334hp. The cams work. No question about it. Heck, when my car get's finished my numbers will be around the 680hp level on MA's dyno. Folks are already beating me up about putting my car on a dynojet for a number comparison. Am I going to, probably not because I don't really care.

1slow370 01-05-2019 09:54 PM

Good work z1 glad somebody finally passed me. What 2014-2018 so 4 years?

Also if i still had the car it wouldnt have been hard to one up. It was tuned before uprev had ignition timing figured out

1slow370 07-22-2020 04:26 PM

Guess who's back? Went out to CA and bought her back.

Rusty 07-22-2020 04:30 PM

Was there any changes done while it was out of your hands?

And what are your plans for it?

1slow370 07-22-2020 04:31 PM

It needs some regular maintenance first and some clean up but then I will be doing a flex fuel sensor and a retune with the advancements in software since 2014

Good deal. I beat it feels good to have her back in your hands.

1slow370 07-24-2020 09:26 AM

Well it gives me something to drive until I get the datsun done. Put a call in to Seb about converting it to Ecutek we will see what he has to say

Spooler 07-24-2020 04:03 PM

Post a video of that thing running again please. I always enjoyed all the noises it made.

i will work on it. also need to get started on making the ac work again, unfortunately there is no room for the compressor or condensor so i am going to have to get creative.

You going to raise the redline and try to crack 400whp

there will be things done to make more power yes but i dont know if the rev limit going up will be one of those things yet. I need to start with some adjustments and tuning and get some other things sorted out first and maybe next season tear into the engine again.

Awesome. Congrats on getting the car back.

1slow370 07-30-2020 06:03 PM

ok so somebody school me on this can uprev work with a flex fuel sensor now, and does the "simplified timing" actually work? Seb hasn't gotten back to me but from what i hear ecutek may have trouble with my setup since I am running much larger throttles and apparently ecutek doesn't have as much control over them as uprev does.

Spooler 07-30-2020 06:55 PM

Uprev won't do flex fuel is my understanding.

holy F its been over half a decade, typical uprev

1slow370 08-27-2020 09:14 PM

Well small update, got some id1050's, o-ringed and serviced the manifold due to a vacuum leak, need to make some new brackets for the shorter injectors, and need to order flex fuel sensor and it's off to the Dyno. We are going to test out the speed density hack in Ecutek to see if the car will run right without the maf sensors so I can put in the dbw itb's and airboxes instead of the intake tubes. Going for 400 wheel stock block+cams

Holy shot, DWB on vvel heads? With Ecu tek

Elmo370z 08-27-2020 09:50 PM

Who’s going to tune it?

1slow370 09-03-2020 07:58 PM

Also there are a couple more improvements I want to to do it but I did check into remaking the manifold since I had to get a new airhorn made and it would be around $5k to get it 3d printed in aluminum. Those damn dlms printers are still a million bucks. If 10 people wanted it I could probably get it cast for much less but the tooling fees are in the 5 digits so it isn't really worth it. I have been asked about it many times so I figured I would throw this out there. Summary: it's really damn expensive and I hope it never cracks lol

What are you trying to make for the manifold???

Elmo370z 09-05-2020 12:14 AM

Sigh, wish I was building for power

I had to make a new air horn. also my tuner and I were messing around with Ecutek and we got the doors density tune working. Still needs to be dialed in but itb's are coming by spring for sure

1slow370 09-05-2020 10:11 PM

Also we both agree it needs 4.10 gears to go with the new rev limit

Edit: Jon Parham give me some free 4.08 gears and z1 can still be part of the record. I might be hitting a dynojet on monday. Send me your run conditions and corrections for your 380hp run so it will be fair

1slow370 09-05-2020 10:12 PM

Also I kind-of just want to make a sound track of the car going from 8k-8500 repeatedly lol

1slow370 09-05-2020 10:15 PM

Also you can't hear it in this video but fuel cut at 8500 is just orgasmic

Edit: I worked @GTM and I have heard pretty much everything and I still say the original BERK exhaust is the best sounding exhaust for the 370z. So GD refined it's rediculous. The GTM dual or FI dual does make more power but that SOUND! (Not part of the old record but it was tested with a GTM and FI 3" and made 5-10 more hp.)

1slow370 09-05-2020 10:31 PM

Also for winter down time it's gonna get real serious. Gonna stay stock short block but with rod bolts and go through the whole engine. I want to see how much the Nissan rods/pistons/crank can take. I'm calling it stage OVER9000!!

Don’t you run into valve float after 8,500 Rpms. Mamotorsports did a short test about it with there c2 cams.

1slow370 09-12-2020 12:01 AM

Well the jun cam is less aggressive. I haven't seen any sign of it yet. If I run into it I will look into going with a stiffer PSI spring set

You must of seen the "admintuning" trolls post about the car thinking that I bought it lmao

It's still Matt's car. I had it for a few days to tune out drive-ability before going on the dyno. Unfortunately the local dynojet is still booked.

Ooooooooo.

1slow370 09-20-2020 11:15 AM

no? right now its at the tuners and I'm trying to figure out where the squeal I'm getting in the bell-housing is coming from. only happens at hot idle. I'm thinking it could be the rear main seal thanks to the vacuum in the crankcase

1slow370 09-20-2020 01:39 PM

Squeak is fixed had to rebuild and readjust the vacuum regulator
