This is a true statement. All the grand am race cars are HR heads and shamus old car is with a 4.0 stroker with an HR head also. The jun cam car is probably runner up.

yep stock rods, pistons, crank, bearings, timing gear, valves, springs, lifters, vvel, ports(nothing is ported). the only internal changes were the cams and removing the oil pump.
There was some slow secret sauce poured into the trans to help with the higher rpm shifts tho, eat that TSM lol

Based on my research (JWT, Unitech, the NISMO engine-builder with Kelly Racing), with replacement rod bolts both the VQ35HR and VQ37VHR are both safe to 8800rpm (although the jury is still out on running the VVEL that hard for sustained periods - there is no real empirical detail).
With OEM rod-bolts, I'd be reluctant to exceed 8000rpm, but that is just me. Remember, NASCAR engines run 9500rpm and more for hours and they are all >3-inch stroke. |

Just got back gonna load up the video latter tonight, really need to adress traction issues. Pulled 2.328 60ft and still trapped 113.1 at 13.3. It has got the power to go deep 12's but i might as well be launching in second with my 60ft times.

Nice trap speed. What tires were you using and how was the track prep?

Track prep was ok tires were stock nismo, and i only got 3 runs in it was hella busy. Probably could have knocked off more time if i could have gotten more runs in. I was shaving time off as i was getting better launches 14.4-13.9-13.3 i could have gotten into the 12's with more runs but it really needs better tires. Really was surprised with the amount of wheelspin it was so much harder to get a good launch than when it was stock.
