the less time it takes for your IAT to drop, the sooner your timing advances again. i made a ghetto pair of air scoops for my Stillen G3 intakes. they are so big you can barely see the radiator thru the front grille. hard to tell if there is any gain from ram air but IATs stay pretty steady and cool fairly quickly from a standstill. throttle response remains fairly consistent even in heavy traffic. so it's a win on that front. only problem is that coolant temps are slightly higher due to reduced airflow. driven thru heavy rain and i havent had any issues. filters were a bit soggy but no ill effects could be noticed |
