Car is still at the dealer, they just got the parts in today so I am hoping to pick up the Z tomorrow. Driving around in a Volvo rental that has the worst steering feel I have ever experienced

My guess is they just replaced the CMC, when in reality it was CSC that was faulty.

Exactly. Back in the shop and hoping to get it back next week with a properly working clutch.

Lol, how did I guess? Once again, like I mentioned in this thread, how do you do a thorough inspection by looking threw a 2inx2in window on the bellhousing? The transmission should have been dropped to begin with, especially when 99% of the clutch problems on our cars is from the CSC.
Fountainhead likes this.

Any update on this?

I'm nervous... I'm at 42.5k miles on my '13. I fear every day of it dying on the freeway in the middle lane.

That and I'm no longer under warranty, so I'm curious of how much it costs to replace and install. I think I saw another thread state $750 for the CSC?

Figure ~$300 for a good aftermarket CSC and $600-1000 in labor to drop the tranny and install. Depending on how it fails, you might be doing a clutch if it gets ruined by the leaking fluid.

Might be worth buying a HD CSC now and keeping it on the shelf to limit your downtime.

If only I could right now. Hopefully it'll last until about March, but with the amount of miles that I put on per week... it's going to be sketchy. Maybe I'll offload the car before it happens...

Where about is the csc relative to the clutch disc? I imagine it has to be on top of the clutch in order for the fluid to get to the disk or the flywheel?

MY experience on the csc for other cars is that it would fail gradually with slow leaks. Looks like the Z would just fail without warnings?
