Default Possible CSC Failure on 2013

Well I was hoping that Nissan had fixed the CSC issue on the new models, but my 2013 just got towed to the dealer due to zero clutch pressure. I almost made it to the dealer, but once I got off the highway it was done. Curious what the dealership service tech will find...

Nope, it's the same part across all model years. Ask them if they'll install an aftermarket csc if you bring it to them.

Does CSC stand for clutch slave cylinder? Possibly a stupid question but ive been seeing it a lot lately and was not sure what "common failure" people were talking about

If it is under warranty, they should repair it.

Yes, a common problem

They will be replacing the master under warranty, but not the slave since they said it looks fine. If I would have some warning signs in advance, I would have ordered an aftermarket slave and installed it at the same time...it might be a good idea to grab an aftermarket slave and stow it if you haven't had this issue yet

They replaced my csc no questions asked. If you want just drain some fluid and keep going to dealer say fluid keeps getting low. Then demand replacement lol!

In order to do an inspection on the slave cylinder, they would have had to take the transmission out. FSM states that the CSC has to be replaced anytime the transmission is removed. Good luck with everything.

*If you had it towed to the dealer yesterday, I find it hard to believe they've dropped the transmission already. Got to love the stealership

The master can be replaced without dropping the transmission. For the CSC, IIRC, there's a dust cover and one can peak inside to observe the CSC and pressure plate with a flash light.

Yes sir, I learned that the hard way when I took my transmission out without removing that plate and bent it all to hell. But I have know idea how you can do a thorough inspection on the csc by looking through a 2inx2in window. I guess they seen it wasn't leaking and said its good to go.

LMAO

Where was this before my 3yr went out lol.

So far I have been lucky with CSC. I did have it drop once with just enough pressure to change gears. Was odd, It was late was on my way home. Was really going through the gears getting on freeway. Everything was fine then, it was when I exited and I was on ramp is when it felt weak. I figured it was going to go and I would call tow truck in the morning.

Looked under car next morning no oil. hmmmmm. Checked level....hmmm, Got in....hmmmm clutch has pressure.
Started..hmmmmm....reverse slid in nicely....ran through the gears. Haven't had a problem since.
