revving engine in 1st gear?

is it bad to rev the engine in first with the clutch in because the z had the limiter in neutral of 4k...and im gettin an uprev tune next week but uprev cant remove that . only when driving they can increase it not in neutral

Just out of curiosity, why would you need to rev over 4K in neutral?

to show off of course

I don't fully understand your original post...

Its not bad for the car. To rev to redline, put the car in gear with your foot still on the clutch, then you can redline it

If u have an auto transmission forgetaboutit, manual on the other hand, no problem.

P.S. umm if u cant do it in manual transmission wile holding the clutch pressed and in 1st gear in order to rev the engine over 4k rpm then drop it, it should let u go all the way to 7.5k (some one correct me if am wrong i never tried that)

Also make sure ur rev limiter isn't set to 4k rpm

With this D?

Edit: Sticking my head out the window and yelling "Hey Fe-male" or "Holla" usually works for me.

Hunderd dollar bill taped to the window works for me.

It will add a very minor amount of wear and tear to the drivetrain but why buy a sports car if you're not going to drive it like one? The occasional blip to the redline (don't hold it there) is not going to do enough damage to worry about. The car has a very strong self-preservation instinct and will, for the most part, ignore harmful commands. Change your oil/filter often and :driving:

:iagree: I will never understand people who have trailer queens. I bought a sports car and boosted it so I could drive it like I stole it

It's not that i think revving the engine causes significant damage, just that randomly doing it makes you a douche, take the person for quick spin if they want to hear it.

heehee Newer cars idle so smoothly that I like to give the throttle a little blip every now and then (but not close to redline) just to make sure it's still running. I'm Old Skool and like my idle a little lumpy. :happydance:

A big V-8 with a wild cam sounds (and feels) even better. :)
