Which thermostatic for my AE cooler
Hello everyone, I have a question regarding my oil cooler I purchased a while ago from a user here. Long story short I bought an AE cooler and the sandwhich plate was damaged so I did not install it. However, since I was just DDing my car I thought, ehh. Lol. Well I am now taking her out to the canyons alot more and she geats REAL TOASTY so here is my question.
Which thermostatic sandwhich plate should I use in conjunction with my AE performance oil cooler? I wanted to get the mishimoto one but I saw the thread about those on here and we'll I'm reluctant to buy anything mishimoto now lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

mocal. not sure what size lines and fittings the AE cooler kit uses, but you'd be best off getting a mocal sandwich. they have 180 degree and 200 degree thermostats you can choose from as well

I installed the Mocal with my Z1 25 row cooler. Fit pretty well, but I needed to fab up a thicker washer to get it tight enough against the stock filter surface to not leak. All's good now. I believe it's a 180 degree thermostat. My oil temps usually hover under 200-210 on hot days.

The Z1 kit comes with -10 AN fittings and from what I could find the AE cooler uses -8 fittings and hoses. That being said, fitting aren't hard to find or expensive. You might even be able to call Z1 and have them switched out.

Thanks for the help everyone. I believe I do have the 8 AN lines aswell I think AE did it because the cooler is so big this would compensate for the pressure drop that comes with running the 72 row cooler. Could be wrong though. So I guess I will try to source a 8 AN 180 degree mocal plate, hopefully z1 can help. I will call today.
