Issues hooking up an AEM oil pressure gauge.

Hello. Im having issues getting my AEM gauge to cut on and was hoping someone could provide some advice. I posted in the DIY but never heard anything back.

At this point i have tried swapping the add a circuit double checked connections just about every single circuit point...IDK.

I just cant get the gauge to read or light up.

Any help would be appreciated.

How's your ground connection?

Mozen 08-31-2014 01:02 AM

Its to the stud behind the wire bundle. Now that you mentioned ground tho ill go try a few diff spots.

Also, make sure you don't have any hair line cracks in any of the fuses...they can be damn hard to see sometimes. I know you said you double checked all the connections but have you verified that you are actually getting power at your fuse box tap?

Its a good idea as well N8gtol, ill just replace just incase and then look at the old ones carefully when i do some troubleshooting today.

No. Our car cold starts at over 100 PSI and only drops once the oil has warmed up. Then again, I suppose it will work if you are OK with knowing not to drive aggressively until it reads lower than 100 PSI. I figure the big reason for this gauge is to make sure it does not drop too low, rather than too high.

Use an ohmmeter or continuity checker. Eyeballing fuses is hit or miss. You can find a cheap VOM/DMM for $10-20.
