The clutch friction plate is a wear item and is not covered. Smoke your clutch in 5K miles? Boo hoo, you're gonna pay for it.

The slave cylinder is not a wear item. I would seriously consider escalating this if I were denied warranty coverage.

I've never had an issue but when I do, I'm really not taking "No" for an answer if my mileage is <50K.
