I feel you, ummmm send me a spot where there is alot of open space. or a road you know 100% we can use. Let me google map it and see if its doable for me on that friday.

jamesj1996 07-21-2014 11:36 PM

**** thats gonna be tough because i live right next to the center of town uhmmm just google old boonton rd. theres houses but theres mad straight roads with no cars

Minsu 07-21-2014 11:38 PM

Denville?

jamesj1996 07-21-2014 11:39 PM

yea

Minsu 07-21-2014 11:44 PM

So it seems that Old boonton Rd got replaced by Norris Road.
Damn it Chuck, I told him not roll through that town

Looking forward to hearing what the outcome of this experiment, btw.

jamesj1996 07-22-2014 09:55 AM

Update I drove to work I jut got here 3rd gear wasnt a problem at all . Checked the clutch fluid it was fine and it wasnt black or disgusting like some members have experienced. The temp got up to about 200 last night it was at 220 so heat could be the issue prob not. Also another thing I discovered is when I go into a parking spot in 1st or reverse ..when my foot isnt completely off the clutch but is at its engagement point...I hear like a knocking almost stalling sound but it doesnt stall...thats the update for now ill get back to u guys at lunch break

Minsu 07-22-2014 10:10 AM

Your catch point is lower than you think, it's knocking cause if it goes any higher your gonna stall, give it but not gas and it won't knock, and I mean give it a bit more gas lower than usual and work your way up

jamesj1996 07-22-2014 11:03 AM

Well I was afraid to accelerate hard on my way to work today I took it above 3k but very slowly. I dont know maybe it only happens when I accelerate hard. Ive read that an easy way to tell if clutch fluid needs to be changed is if it's filthy black or below min mine wad neither

jamesj1996 07-22-2014 11:04 AM

Literally I prayed last night that it wasn't my slave cylinder. .it cost 138 no biggie but labor....like 7-800 bucks. Im broke rn

Minsu 07-22-2014 11:31 AM

That or you might have a kink in ur pressure lines.

Sounds like something to talk with your proctologist about...

jamesj1996 07-22-2014 04:02 PM

update . just drove home . again drove lightly no hard launches and rpms never went over 3500k. didnt get stuck even when temps went up to 220. checked clutch fluid...it wasnt BLACK like some members had when they had clutch issues but it didnt look brand new either. it might just be in my head but the clutch feels a tiny bit softer.

DIGItonium 07-22-2014 04:16 PM

If your clutch isn't fully releasing even with your foot planted, the car will lurch forward or even crawl in 1st. Pedal pressure should be firm with less than 1" of play up top. It shouldn't be mushy halfway. If that's the case, you can try bleeding it.

I've been told not to overfill the gearbox either. This can cause excess pressure in the gearbox and cause it to blow seals. That's what I was told by my tech.

For a 2009 with how many miles? It doesn't hurt to switch to better clutch fluid like Motul RBF600.

It already had RBF600 in it.

jamesj1996 07-22-2014 04:32 PM

Yeah rob (the guy above was the previous owner) well 2nd to the previous previous had it for a month but yeah the clutch isnt sticking to the ground its coming up. Also it has 21k miles I bought it with 19.8

jamesj1996 07-22-2014 04:33 PM

Jus got trans and diff oil changed 300 miles ago everything was fine til last night. Today it's fine to I don't get it

Minsu 07-22-2014 05:23 PM

Hmmmm, try a lengthy drive maybe thirty minutes or so.

Minsu 07-22-2014 05:24 PM

With launches and high rpm driving

jamesj1996 07-22-2014 06:29 PM

i drove for like 45 min today. then i took it to the dealership where i know a buddy thats been working on z's for 6 years. hes a close family friend. he took it out and drove it hard for a good 10 min he said the clutch is fine all the gears are smooth synchro is good and he even did the 3rd gear test where he puts it in 3rd then lets go of the clutch...the car stalled so the clutch is good. csc is fine. only thing is he said in the future change or bleed the clutch...but even though the fluid isnt golden or new looking right now he says its nothing to worry about at all . he drove it and he said "no offense james but if this is your first mt car these things happen lol" maybe hes right...maybe im jus dumb

Minsu 07-22-2014 08:30 PM

Yeaaaaa that was my initial thought ;) I kid op

jamesj1996 07-22-2014 09:42 PM
