Unhappy Letting off the clutch?

Hey guys, I just bought a 370z sport touring 6 speed. I leave synchro rev off when I am normal driving. I have only 450 miles on the car and have had numerous passengers. I am not a complete stranger to stick, but this is my second week with the car. When I left off the clutch the car semi jerks 1st and 2nd And 3rd, but not in 4,5, and 6. If I release the clutch slowly, then I don't have that problem, but when I release quicker I do. Passengers say I release to slowly and I am burning the clutch. I say I am trying to avoid a jerk, they say I am burning the clutch letting it out slowly! Can I get some help please!!! Thank you!

Welcome to the world of Nissan clutches. Search for clutch issues or springs

Had the same issue and 3-4mos later I'm still feeling it out. I've been reading about removing or swapping out the helper spring and that makes a world of a difference. I'm about to search the DIY and try it.

, I never understood why so many people have a hard time with the clutch on the Z... Yea it isn't the greatest in the world, but if you have experience with a manual transmission, you shouldn't have any problems...

Anyways, if OP is shifting with SRM off, and the car tends to jerk, then the RPMS are dropping to low in between shifts... so I would say a little more gas as you're letting off the clutch. Just practice, you'll get better.

Yep, it's the crappy OEM clutch spring. There was always something "off" that I couldn't fig out. I bought This new one off ebay and it made a world of difference. Easy to install.

Huge difference. Well worth the minimal time, effort, and cash.

Yup, or learn how to heal/toe it!

Why would you turn off SyncroRev?

Syncro Rev is there to make life simper and easier on the transmission as it avoids the potential for transmission snatch (not to be confused with other types of snatch btw) on up/down shift.

I have no idea of the logic that would lead to anyone turning it off given that it smooths both up and down-shift.

Getting the car off the line smoothly with the OEM clutch does call be a momentary clutch slip in my opinion, but it is just that, a momentary thing that requires some coordination and concentration.

I reckon you need to turn syncrorev back on and consciously practice getting underway with a minimal clutch slip until it becomes second nature. When I say momentary, I mean maybe a quarter second on so - enough for the vehicle to move a couple of feet and the road speed to match engine speed at maybe 14-1500 rpm.

This... and now Porsche and the Vetts have auto rev matching. Heal toeing does the same thing, but takes some practice. Anyway, it's a benefit to you and you should use it (or not )!
