OK, just did this mod as I had some clunking sound when shifting into 2nd, probably just how I shift, not the transmission. Back on topic after doing this mod, no noise! Very easy to do. Hopefully, it will hold up, I could probably stand to take apart the rear axles and grease them properly, but a little limited on time at the moment.

One point of clarification for those doing this mod. It will require 3 washers per side, so don't throw away your old ones. The stealership was damn expensive here... $60 for (4) washers and (4) cotter pins.

Hi Guys,
My 2017 with 40000km has started making this click noise. Is this "Kawasaki nut" still the fix you guys do to remedy the noise issue?
I see some comments that the noise still comes back even with this method.

Yes. A castellated nut is the solution for the axle 'clunk' that occurs when changing directions in the vehicle at very low speeds.

I think most people take it to 80Ft.Lb

From FSM:

• When installing drive shaft, change the drive shaft and wheel hub
and bearing assembly matching marks put at the removal step by
180 degree.
• Use the following torque range for tightening the wheel hub lock
nut.

: 100 – 105 N·m (10 – 11 kg-m, 74 – 77 ft-lb)
