Clutch slap problem

So from 1st to 2nd i can hear what sounds like clutch slapping, its only from 1st to 2nd, and sometimes it feels like its sticking, meaning that its a bit hard to shift from 1st to 2nd then when it releases it makes a slapping sound (especially when i rev it up to 4K or so), maybe its CSC? not sure, its 09 6MT with 18K miles...just put some redline mt85 in there and its better but not cured. any ideas?

thx for replay, but it seem to be doing that regardless, i think it maybe crappy OEM clutch...

I would renew clutch fluid before tranny fluid of its my clutch.

If it was grinding then MT fluid.

almost sounds like you are describing gear lash/drivetrain slop which is completely normal

Shifts when the tranny oil is comparatively cold can also be what you might be calling "sticking" or "a bit hard"

a more detailed explanation would be helpful, sticky and "slapping" are kinda open to interpretation

I've read some posts on this since and it maybe normal after the clutch get broken in or maybe crappy oem clutch

Yeah this car is difficult to shift smoothly compared to most manuals.

If you rev match an upshift like you would a downshift, you can eliminate the sound some. Just practice letting the rev go down to the correct rpm each upshift, obviously it depends on your speed and timing. 1st gear to second is always the hardest to get just right. Prepare to drive a little slower than normal though. You can drive decently fast in this method once you get use to it, but the car stock is not meant for slamming gears straight out the box I would say. Probably need to upgrade mounts, better clutch kit and flywheel, better suspension, then you can go speed racer with it while keeping the car on the ground, otherwiseyou'll get the boat effect and you can see the front raising.

Forgot to mention, on the last half of what I was saying in that paragraph, is shifting too fast, while the first half of the paragraph was refering to shifting slower

i doubt it's clutch slap, i have been trying to hold my peace on this but I'm finding it hard to believe someone can discover a hard to diagnose thing like clutch slap, without knowing a clutch has it's own hydraulics system. I call either first manual car or just not a mechanic at all, really not trying to be mean but it doesn't make sense.

Also i should add that "clutch slap" usually only happens on multiplate clutches

And form the description it sounds like you have discovered the dual mass flywheel thump, clunk, which is common and not a problem, as for the hard 1-2 shift, these things shift like **** the synchros suck get used to it it's normal as bad as that is to say.
