My Clutch is being weird!
So I decided to open up the car on the yesterday since I baby it a tad much. I am the second owner, purchased with 5k miles back in feb, it has 6k now. I didn't ride on the clutch just did normal shifts and revved it to 5-6k on the freeway. Shortly after entering the freeway I noticed my clutch felt looser. In fact, at one point it stuck once to the floor.
After letting my car sit for a bit, the clutch felt a little more tighter, but still not as tight as it did prior to driving fast on the freeway. My friend thinks maybe my pressure plate or ball bearing is messed up, or I have air in line. I've driven at similar speeds in my Abarth and experienced no anomalies like this with the clutch. Thoughts? Anyone else experience their clutch getting loose? |

It affects all models... Nissan needs to seriously do something about it.

Ah, if your fluid level is not low, and you have weak pedal it's the Master Cylinder, NOT the Slave cylinder. CSC always, always, fail the same way, they lose seal on the O-Rings, and the pedal never comes back. Then the fluid reservoir for the clutch empties because every time you press the pedal, if the CSC is leaking, you're squirting fluid out of the CSC.
Of course your fluid could have gotten hot and boiled a bit, but usually that's indicative of dirty fluid needing cycling/cleaning out. |

Thanks for the feedback and help Z family I appreciate it! Also for the record, the clutch pedal only stuck once. After that it was fine just super loose. My buddy, who owns a g37, drove my car and noticed it was a tad softer than his clutch on the g. |

I would look at the fluid and if it's dirty, follow the "Ranger Protocol". Search Google for those words, I follow cleaning my clutch fluid very closely, if it's not transparent, I swap fluid out.

About a year ago, my clutch kept sticking to the floor for about 2 seconds every once in a while, then it fully stayed that way and I got stuck in downtown I got my Z towed to the dealership and they said the hydraulic fluid in the clutch depleted - easy fix and it was under warranty!

Drove it today, no more sticking..But it feels so loose and soft now. I have to push it further in to shift. I am going to call the stealership tomorrow and have them look at it this week. Might as well take advantage of the free oil change and car wash while I'm at it.

Update: Stealership replaced the fluid with the GTR fluid and my clutch feels like it did prior to all this craziness. Will monitor and if this happens again I'll update.
Thanks for the help Z family! ^_^ |

That sounds like a lot of other threads I've seen about CSC failing. They always try to ”fix" the problem with gtr fluid but then they'll change CSC. Then It fails again after a few months.
If mine starts showing these symptoms, I'll order HD CSC right away |

My '13 did the same thing at 4700 miles. Pedal to the floor while coming to a light on the expressway. I limped off the expressway and had it towed to the dealership. They changed the clutch fluid to the higher temp GTR fluid and it's better. I'm waiting for it to fail again. I need to get a HD CSC and have it waiting and see if I can talk the dealership into changing to an aftermarket part during replacement. The dealership covered the repair and the tow so I'm OK there. We'll see...
